IFRA and safety
Grapefruit essential oil is widely used, but with the limitations of citrus.
Can be used for:
- body care products
- in soaps and shampoos
- in perfumery and home fragrances
Important:
- phototoxic (may cause skin sensitivity to UV radiation)
- Avoid direct sunlight for 12-24 h after skin application
- use diluted
- comply with IFRA limits (especially lower % in leave-on products).
- not recommended for candles, as the smell dissipates quickly and the candle does not burn steadily.
