Which oils and creams to add to Melt & Pour soap mix?

Melt & Pour soap mix is one of the easiest ways to make handmade soaps. Melt the soap paste, add your favourite fragrance oil, colour or conditioning ingredient and pour into a mould. As the soap paste is already a ready-made soap, there’s no need to use sodium hydroxide or make complicated calculations.

Many soapmakers want to add even more skin conditioning properties to their soaps. Vegetable oils and butters are perfect for this.

How much oil or butter to add?

The Melt & Pour soap bar already contains conditioning ingredients, so a little extra is all you need.

Recommended amount:

  • Oils: 2-5 ml per 500 g of soap paste
  • Shea butter: 5-10 g per 500 g of soap paste

Too much can reduce lather and make the soap softer.
