The palm wax BWC16 is suitable for making glass candles, powder candles, but also very well suited for votive and pillar candles. The main difference between palm wax and other waxes is that it leaves an interesting crystalline texture and pattern on the candles. In the case of powder candles, the crystalline texture is only present after the candle has been burnt.
The wax burns cleanly and for a long time, is suitable for use as scented matches and is biodegradable and environmentally friendly. The raw material, derived from completely natural palm fruits, is 100% natural and organic.
Do not mix with paraffin or other waxes. Avoid the use of copper moulds, materials or other copper-based processing aids. The pastes, dyes and fragrances used in palm wax candles may give different results. Wedo Bio wicks are suitable, but compared to Soy Wax candles, a larger wick should be used.
Palm waxes, including BWC16, can be a little harder to work with than other waxes as their properties can depend on the exact temperature and casting conditions, but the end result is often a unique and beautiful candle.
For Palm Wax BWC16, the recommended fragrance addition percentage is usually 6-8%, depending on the intensity of the fragrance oil and the desired fragrance strength. This means that approximately 60-80 grams of fragrance oil can be added per 1 kg of wax. It is best to add the fragrance when the wax has melted to a temperature of 80-85°C to ensure even distribution of the fragrance.
The recommended pouring temperature for Palm Wax BWC16 for glass candles is usually between 80-90°C. This temperature range helps to maintain the wax’s ability to crystallize and ensures uniform patterning and good adhesion to the glass. It is also important to preheat the vessel to avoid cracks and ensure better adhesion.
