Cure time

For best results, let the finished candle harden at room temperature for at least 2 days.

To achieve the full scent release, it is recommended to let the candle cure for 7–14 days.

This is particularly important for the S41, as the aroma continues to develop after brewing.

Frosting and Polymorphism

As with many natural Soy Waxes, Golden Wax S41 may exhibit polymorphism, which manifests as surface frosting, crystallization, or mottling. This is particularly likely to occur during repeated remelting or when recasting a candle. This phenomenon can be minimized by:

  • by monitoring the cooking temperature
  • with slow and even cooling
  • avoiding large temperature fluctuations
  • by using the appropriate wax blend

In manufacturing practice, S41 is sometimes mixed with 30–50% mineral wax to reduce frosting and improve surface stability. S41 also mixes well with CS1 wax, which is used in professional candle making.

Important to know

Golden Wax S41 is a very soft container wax, which is why it is not suitable on its own for making molded or pillar candles.

For best results, always test a specific combination of S41 + fragrance oil + wick + color + Glass Candle Jars.
